Skydance Paramount Set to Remove Approximately 2,000 United States Roles – Update

Skydance Paramount plans to begin mass layoffs during the week starting 27 October, cutting about 2,000 US jobs as part of a expense reduction strategy worth $2bn under CEO David Ellison.

The layoffs follow the union between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized this past August worth $8.4bn.

Further global layoffs are likely, as the firm aiming to disclose full details during its third-quarter financial update on 10 November.

Earlier reports had indicated the company aimed to cut between 2,000 to 3,000 positions by the beginning of next month.

Until December 2024, the organization had nearly 18,600 permanent and temporary staff and 3,500 temporary project employees.

Paramount Skydance has not provided a response to a request for comment.
