Chopper Twirls Uncontrollably into Palm Fronds at Well-Known California Shoreline
An aircraft soaring over a crowded coastal coastline abruptly started spinning uncontrollably, eventually descending rapidly and plunging into a line of palm groves as onlookers looked on.
Recordings uploaded online show the aircraft starting to spin above the shoreline then plunging near the edge of the beach, where it gets stuck amidst palm trees and a staircase adjacent to the Pacific Coast highway.
Emergency Response Details
Emergency responders said five individuals were transported to a medical facility including two individuals who were in the aircraft and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” after the accident on the weekend.
Three people on the street were hurt. Specifics on their condition were still under review.
The cause of the crash was not yet disclosed.
